Natural U launched in Nov 2009 in Coventry, West Midlands, UK.
Natural U was created by me Catherine and my very good friend Nicola. We are both two mums with young families who became close friends after meeting at a mother and toddler group nearly three years ago.
One of the first conversations we ever had was about how badly we suffered with sore, itchy, dry hands. I in particular suffered so badly with my hands that I found doing day to day tasks very hard. Having gone through a range of different creams. The results were found to be minimal.
Nicola and I always wondered why the only creams available in our local shops are full of ingredients we did not understand and later found that these obscure ingredients are not necessarily good for the skin. Looking into this more, we found that the skin is the body’s largest organ and absorbs most of what is put onto it!
After a day at the park with the children, we came up with the idea that we could research how to make our own creams. Later that evening, we researched this idea straightaway. We found lots of ideas and recipes on the internet and purchased all kinds of books with homemade recipes for creams.
After intensive and extensive research for two and a half years into essential oils, base oils, waxes etc. We came up with some wonderful formulas of our own and made these creams for ourselves, families and friends. Both of us found that our All purpose cream soothed and put the moisture back into our hands – Amazing! – We suffered so terribly with dry, sore hands for so long! After the fantastic feedback from our friends and families, we decided at that point to get our formulas tested by a toxicologist. All of our products are evaluated under the provisions of The Cosmetic products (safety) regulations 2008, regulation16 (d). Once this was done, we decided to share our gorgeous skin care range with the world! And so, Natural U was born.
So far we have had an excellent response from our customers. And have already built up a good customer base.
Unfortunately Nicola and I could no longer continue the business as a partnership and we both decided that for the business to move forwards it needs only one manager. It was decided that I be the person to manage Natural U. Nicola and I remain very close friends and Nicola is a great support to me as I move forwards with Natural U
It’s been wonderful going to so many events around the West Midlands, talking to people, and look forward to traveling further a field in the future.
My aim is to let everyone know about how well Natural U products work, to be recognized internationally and to be available for you in all your local shops.
We do not believe in testing on animals, all of our packaging is recyclable and we ensure our ingredients come from the best sources. We work hard to ensure Natural U range is of the best quality.
